Gulmira Kazakunova, a DPO leader, and Minister of Social Development, Kudaibergen Bazarbaev, discussed preparations for the International Wheelchair Marathon
Ministry of Social Development will support the International Marathon around the Issyk-Kule lake. ‘Improving accessibility for persons with disabilities is a new direction in our Ministry’ – said Minister of Social Development, Bazarbaev Kudaibergen.
‘The group of 30 self-advocates from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Finland will take part in the marathon. Earlier we had various itineraries. Now we will cycle the remaining 138 km, and thus we will make a round trip, around the lake. In addition, we will organize awareness-raising events during our travel at schools – to promote idea children with disabilities have equal rights. We will also talk about physical trauma prevention’ – said Gulmira Kazakunova.
