Central Asian Network of Women with Disabilities

The network is currently coordinated by Public Union Alliance of Persons with Disabilities ‘Ravenstvo’, Kyrgyz Republic. Sixteen disabled women’s organizations from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan are covered by the network.

 

Project ‘Enhancing rights and opportunities of women with disabilities from countries of Central Asia’

Project objectives: 

 

1.

Raising society’s awareness about gender and disability, and protecting  rights of girls and women with disabilities in Central Asia

 

2.

Strengthening Central Asian network through increasing capacity of member organizations

 

3.

Elimination of negative social stereotypes in relation to women with disabiltiies in Central Asia

Organization of technical meetings on strategic planning by Central Asian network of disabled women’s organizations

 

Organization of International school of Independent Life for young women with disabilities in Kazakhstan

 

Material development in six languages on reproductive rights and maternity, education and employment, and enhancement of disabled women’s self-confidence

Organization of the 8th International Marathon on wheel chairs along the Issyk-kule lake
